Canon DM-GL2 MiniDV Camcorder XM2 Software…?
I have recently purchased a Canon DM-GL2 XM2 but there was no software disc with it.
Does anyone know where I can get the disc from, so I can make my computer compatible.
Canon don’t do them. I have been on line but it only shows updates.
My canon is a GL2 American NTSC and my pc is Vista.
So you have a Mini-dv camcorder (tape) there is no software needed

As Iridflare says all the drivers needed are part of windows OS (IEEE 1394) the only thing you are going to need is a cable and firewire card (IEEE 1394) If you computer does not have one. You cannot capture the video in any other way. You have Windows movie maker, But its not going to do justice to the camera, better off getting a good editor, such as Adobe Premiere, or Sony Vegas, the software is about the best you can get but not easy to use, and takes some time to get to know, both offer 30 day trials.
There is other software that is free, but in my opinion if its that good why should they offer it for nothing.

Some are free some you have to pay for.
Good luck
