Advice for low light photography of the wedding?
Hello, I'm an SF based wedding photographer. I have met almost all lighting situations possible, but I'm still very curious of what other photographers do in low light. Usually tend to stay away from using my Speedlite flash as much as possible – If I use a LumiQuest diffuser light box … but I'm looking for alternatives … Do you use any special technique to achieve a good picture without ruining flash? I shot with a Canon 30D and lens af/2.8L 24-70 most of the time … the goal is really quick to help … eager to hear your answers and suggestions!
Given the circumstances there are two options to close the result you want. Option 1: You mention a knowledgeable and helpful poster on the use of lenses open face. Option 2: Using high ISO with the aim that it already possesses. The noise is definitely a concern for the ISO 800-1600, but the commitment of not using a flash that leaves no alternative. To avoid the problem of noise have a little extra work in post processing of photos. Make sure you shoot in RAW images were contains more information and settings can handle much better.
