What equipment do I need for my portrait / studio photography and my camera is good enough?
I am looking to start a studio portrait. I will be taking photos of families and children or babies. Maybe even high-level images. I have a Canon SLR 8MP Digital Rebel XT. Is this enough good to begin with? Also, I read that the 90mm macro lens from Tamron is good for portraits. Is this true and what I need another lens? Will I need the following things and if so what kind do you recommend: studio lamps / lights, bounce cards, a reader of light / underground? Is there something I'm leaving out? For scenarios. I'm thinking of having my white background to be the kind in the curved wall that responds to the .. floor there is a certain name for this? Should I also get a curtain system muslin background? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
First, I wish you good luck in your business. Therefore, you are going to open a photography studio, but have no idea whether you have the right of the camera or lighting, or subway, or funds, or contact lenses. I think the first thing you need is some education in the study of photography. It is not brain surgery, (or even wedding photography), but needs at least have an idea of things you'll need for the implementation and most importantly, how to use things to produce images that customers enough treasure to pay. Only the team not enough, you need the knowledge to use it! Also, another important thing we need is business knowledge. For the record, you can shoot with Digital Pictures Rebel, even though the camera is not exactly inspiring I would have preferred a medium or large format camera for studio photography, however, or at least a digital SLR professional level.
