Backdrop Muslin
Need help with a backdrop?
I'm building my own studio and next thing I buy is a backdrop. I just want a plain black for now, or white possssibly. The only values are decent you can find muslin. Is this really well for studio photography? It seems very see-through, but this effect is not obvious once it's actually hanging? If there is one that does not let light would be a bonus. Moreover, I do not use paper – only cloth.
Its 100% cotton and folds like no tomorrow. You need a steamer also wrinkles, but be warned, fabrics are cheaper end ugly. Most people new to photography studio stasrt with cloth and quickly migrate to a paper roll and flatter their less of a pain in the ass. Nothing says "amateur" like a fabric backdrop full of wrinkles! If you flash sync speeds of 1/250th ie natural light will not show through.
